Many parents are concerned about vaccine safety and worry about a supposed link to autism.  Please click here for the latest information on vaccine safety and the importance of vaccinating your child.

This year, the Center for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics both recommend annual vaccination for influenza (“the flu”).  For detailed information in this disease, please click here.

Here is the latest information from the Center of Disease Control concerning Swine Flu and Travel restriction recommendations. The CDC has also published a podcast discussing Swine Flu.

Vaccinations are usually part of the Well Child Visit.  The following is the 2009 vaccination schedule for the United States:

Childhood injuries are a leading cause of death and disability in children.  Injury Prevention is an extremely important part of caring for your child.  Different age groups of children present a different set of challenges for parents in making their environment safe.

As a Board-Certified Pediatric Emergency Physician, I have seen first-hand how the proper use of child restraints helps make the difference between life and death in a car crash.  Please click here for information on how to protect your child with proper use of car seats and seatbelts.  I have also seen many children drown or nearly drown because of lack of a properly installed swimming pool fence around their home swimming pool.

The links below will provide you with a wealth of reliable information about your child's health from the American Academy of Pediatrics:
